Ministry of Health: Ukrainian hospitals receive 20 mobile X-ray systems with support from the Republic of Korea

Ukraine has received 20 EXTRON 7 mobile C-arm X-ray systems worth more than USD 1 million in total. The assistance was provided by the Republic of Korea through its Embassy in Ukraine, with the involvement of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

C-arms are mobile X-ray systems that allow doctors to obtain images during medical procedures. The equipment can be used in operating theatres and trauma and surgical departments, among other settings, helping medical professionals monitor procedures and take necessary decisions promptly.

Thanks to their mobility, the systems can be moved between operating theatres and other areas of a medical facility as required. This is particularly important when treating patients with injuries and complex trauma requiring surgery.

Medical facilities in 16 Ukrainian regions received equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The systems were delivered to hospitals in the Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Kherson, Cherkasy and Chernivtsi regions, as well as the capital.

The Republic of Korea and KOICA have consistently supported Ukraine’s healthcare system. Through earlier cooperation, Ukraine received emergency ambulances and medical equipment, including portable X-ray machines, C-arms, anaesthesia machines, patient monitors and ultrasound systems.

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine thanks the Government of the Republic of Korea, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ukraine, KOICA and the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their continued support for Ukraine’s healthcare system and their assistance in equipping medical facilities with modern technology.
