Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, took part in a meeting with the heads of regional military administrations in frontline regions.

Chaired by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and attended by Viktor Mykyta, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the participants discussed the next steps to strengthen the regions.

“It is important to maintain constant and direct communication with frontline regions, as the needs of people are at the heart of all government decisions. One of the most critical issues is getting through the heating season amid ongoing enemy attacks. In recent days, the Government has allocated nearly UAH 1 billion to frontline regions and communities. This grant will help to promptly address the consequences of enemy strikes, purchase equipment and fuel, repair heating networks, and restore water and electricity supplies. The draft state budget for next year also provides additional funds – over UAH 10.6 billion in grants for communities,” emphasised Oleksii Kuleba.

A key issue is the protection and maintenance of main roads, which serve as vital logistical and evacuation routes. This is a request from communities and the defence forces holding the front line.

“We are reviewing the results of the first package of the cross-sectoral Programme for Supporting Frontline Territories. Together with other relevant ministries, heads of regional military administrations, communities, and people’s deputies, we are preparing further decisions under the Support Programme,” added the Deputy Prime Minister.

Requests from frontline cities and settlements concern basic necessities that ensure vital functions: heat and water, housing for people, and the stable operation of communal enterprises. Similarly, the Government’s Winter Support is primarily aimed at residents of frontline territories.
