“Latvia has always been and remains a reliable partner of Ukraine in the defensive war against russian aggression. We deeply appreciate the significant assistance provided by Latvia to Ukraine in this difficult time and sincerely hope to continue this support in the future. We are also grateful for Latvia’s active participation in the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula. We are currently preparing to hold thematic conferences that will allow us to agree on a common framework for a just peace and to hold the second Peace Summit by the end of this year. We sincerely appreciate Latvia’s leadership in creating international legal instruments to ensure the responsibility of the russian federation and its leadership for the crime of aggression, war crimes and crimes against humanity in Ukraine,” said Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleh Nemchinov.

At the end of the meeting, the parties acknowledged the effectiveness of the work within the framework of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Latvian Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation. It is one of the most important tools for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the economic sphere, the main platform for implementing joint initiatives and important strategic projects.

It is worth noting that during the 10th meeting of the Commission, attention was focused on the issue of returning security to the de-occupied territories by supporting efforts to overcome the consequences of land contamination with mines and explosive devices. In this regard, Latvian companies, in particular those from the innovative technology sector, were invited to join the development of innovative approaches to mine action.
