German Galushchenko: We are working to increase generation and expand electricity transmission capacity, monitoring compliance with outage schedules
We are working to increase generation and expand electricity transmission capacity, and monitoring compliance with outage schedules. The Minister of Energy of Ukraine emphasized this on the air of the United News national telethon.
“The situation is really difficult now. We use the time between shelling for two tasks. First, to reduce the deficit by increasing electricity production. And this is happening now. Second, to increase the capacity to transmit electricity from generation facilities to consumers. Especially from the regions where the capacity is locked,” said German Galushchenko.
According to the Minister, the risk of shelling remains, especially on holidays. But the percentage of enemy missiles that are downed and the level of protection of energy infrastructure facilities are quite high.
“Now the entire energy sector is working 24/7, and the results of its work are absolutely obvious. We are monitoring the situation round the clock, power engineers are working, the relevant headquarters are working, and we see how the situation in the energy system is improving,” the Minister emphasized.
He also stressed that non-stop checks of compliance with the power outage schedules are now taking place. Because each region has its approved power limits, which are distributed among consumers. There is a permanent commission, involving the State Inspectorate for Energy Supervision, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities, and the Security Service of Ukraine, which detects any manipulations or illegal outages.
“The key thing now is for everyone to understand that there will be no exceptions for managers who commit such violations. Everyone should feel, and it is fundamental for us, that the state is constantly monitoring and controlling the situation. And we will respond firmly to the facts of violations, including publicly. I believe that during the war it should affect the sense of responsibility that everyone bears in their place,” summed up German Galushchenko.
