Restoration of Okhmatdyt’s modern building continues: internal works partially completed, facade repairs ongoing
As of August 2025, significant progress has been made in the major renovation of the treatment and diagnostic complex damaged due to russia’s armed aggression.
Active work on updating the facade is underway – over 2,200 m² of damaged facade in blocks D, V, and B have been removed, and brackets for mounting the new facade have been installed on over 1,200 m². Additionally, insulation works are being carried out: the facade subsystem, insulation materials, and other necessary materials have already been delivered to the site. The production of new windows is nearing completion, with their installation set to begin next week in specific blocks.
Internal repair works are being conducted simultaneously across five floors of the building, including preparations for launching the bone marrow transplantation department, which requires sterile clean rooms.
In block V, a significant amount of internal work has been completed: partial replacement of drywall, suspended ceilings, HPL panels (decorative laminated panels), and windows. Wall joints in clean rooms (areas with heightened sterility requirements) covering over 2,300 m² have been sealed. Some windows and doors have been updated, linoleum has been replaced in certain areas, and partial painting works have been carried out.
Additionally, engineering systems are being upgraded. Notably, 159 light fittings have been installed across four floors of block V. The ventilation system has been inspected, and fire safety and low-voltage systems have been checked. Some premises in this block have already been handed over for operation.
Repair works are organised to avoid disrupting the treatment process, ensuring continuous care for children.
As a reminder, the major renovation of the modern building is being carried out by Riola-Module LTD. The project is implemented with technical support from the international engineering company Eptisa Servicios de Ingeniería. Quality control is provided by Akadem Bud, with architectural supervision by the engineering company Arkon. The project is funded with support from the Okhmatdyt – Healthy Childhood charitable foundation.
