Ministry of Health: More than 115,000 Ukrainians have benefited from the Health Screening 40+ programme

Ministry of Health of Ukraine, posted 09 June 2026 20:29

More than 115,000 Ukrainians have already taken part in the Health Screening 40+ programme, which enables people aged 40 and over to undergo free health checks and assess their risks of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and mental health conditions. Since the launch of the national programme, more than 800,000 applications have been submitted.

Health Screening 40+ helps identify health risks before serious symptoms appear. This is particularly important as high blood pressure, abnormal glucose levels and other risk factors can remain unnoticed for long periods.

As part of the screening, participants can:

  • undergo the necessary laboratory tests;
  • complete a health and risk-factor questionnaire;
  • have their blood pressure, pulse, height, weight and waist circumference measured;
  • calculate their body mass index (BMI);
  • receive personalised recommendations;
  • if necessary, be referred for further medical consultation or diagnostic examinations.

Individuals who received funding for Health Screening 40+ before 1 May 2026 must complete the full examination and use the funds by 30 June 2026. Any unused funds will be returned to the state budget after that date.

For those who received funding after 1 May 2026, the funds must be used within two months of receipt.

The programme is available through public, municipal and private healthcare providers participating in the initiative. More than 2,000 healthcare facilities across Ukraine are currently enrolled in the programme.

In May 2026, the participation rules were updated. The previous requirement linking eligibility to a person’s birthday was removed, allowing all Ukrainians aged 40 and over to apply at any convenient time through the Diia app or at an Administrative Services Centre.
