Ministry of Digital Transformation: Harmonising digital standards with EU – all digital signature formats now in Diia app
The Diia app now supports the XAdES format for Diia.Signature, significantly expanding Ukrainians’ ability to interact with European services and partners.
Implementing the new format for Diia.Signature is part of Ukraine’s digital European integration commitments. This enables Ukrainian citizens and businesses to sign documents recognised both in Ukraine and internationally.
The EU supports multiple international electronic signature formats, with each country or company choosing the most suitable. Diia.Signature now offers the full range of these formats:
- XAdES: Supports signing files of any format, including XML for structured data.
- PAdES: Embeds signatures directly in PDF files.
- CAdES: A universal signature for various file types and systems.
This allows users to select the format most convenient for their foreign partners. For instance, XAdES suits Baltic countries, while PAdES is ideal for partners in Austria, Poland, or Italy, streamlining interactions without additional configurations.
Sign documents now at id.gov.ua/sign?lang=en by selecting the desired qualified electronic signature format via Diia.Signature-EU.
This brings Ukraine closer to full digital integration with the EU.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation is implementing the new Diia.Signature format with EU support through the DT4UA and EU4DigitalUA projects, executed by the e-Governance Academy.
