Ukraine expects to open all negotiating clusters with the EU by the end of the year and receive a positive assessment on Cluster 1 in early 2027
Four negotiating clusters with the European Union have already been opened this year. Ukraine expects to open the rest by the end of the year, Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi said in his statement at the Euronews Enlargement Summit.
The Head of Government spoke about progress across the negotiating chapters, including financial services, energy, agriculture, customs and digital transformation.
"Our priority right now is Cluster 1, 'Fundamentals of the EU Accession Process': judicial reform, anti-corruption and public administration reform," the Prime Minister of Ukraine noted.
To speed up work on the interim benchmarks, Ukraine and the European Commission have set up a special working group, the Task Force.
"We aim to receive a positive assessment of our interim benchmarks in early 2027," Sergii Koretskyi said.
In the first half of 2027, during Lithuania's presidency of the EU Council, Ukraine also expects the provisional closure of seven negotiating chapters.
The Prime Minister thanked European partners for their trust and for their support for Ukraine on its path to EU membership.
