Ministry for Communities and Territories Development: Ukrainian ports have handled over 15 million tonnes of cargo since the beginning of the year
Since the beginning of 2026, Ukrainian seaports have already handled more than 15 million tonnes of cargo. Operations continue despite ongoing attacks on infrastructure and high security risks.
The bulk of the transshipment is handled by the ports of Greater Odesa – 14.5 million tonnes this year, of which 8.5 million tonnes is grain exports. Danube ports have processed 1.1 million tonnes of cargo, including 221 thousand tonnes of grain.
Since September 2023, nearly 179 million tonnes of cargo have been transported via the Ukrainian Sea Corridor, of which 107 million tonnes is grain. During this period, 7,087 vessels have been handled.
“Behind every tonne of cargo stands the daily work of people operating under constant threat of shelling. Port workers, seafarers, logisticians, and engineers ensure the movement of vessels and the fulfilment of export contracts in extremely challenging conditions. Thanks to their efforts, the Ukrainian Sea Corridor remains a reliable route for the world and a key tool in guaranteeing global food security,” emphasised Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba.
The enemy systematically attacks port infrastructure. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, 726 port infrastructure facilities and 153 civilian vessels have been damaged or partially destroyed, and 238 civilians have been affected.
Since the beginning of 2026 alone, 63 port infrastructure facilities and 7 civilian vessels have been damaged.
Despite this, Ukrainian ports continue to operate, ensuring stable cargo transshipment and supporting the country’s economy and global supply chains.
