Scholarships will now be awarded to students of higher education institutions regardless of their form of ownership. In response to students' requests, the Government has regulated the procedure for payments to students of private higher education institutions who also study at the expense of the state. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
Starting September 1 of this year, they will receive academic scholarships of at least UAH 4,000. This year, the minimum scholarship will double compared to 2025.
Funds for scholarships are provided for in the Ministry of Education and Science's budget allocations for 2026.
“This decision is an example of cooperation, when young people's proposals influence state policy and become real Government decisions. It is important for us that young people have opportunities and decent living and development conditions in Ukraine,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
