Yulia Svyrydenko: The National Youth Council under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine commences its work today

The National Youth Council under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine commences its work today. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

"We held our first inaugural meeting. We welcome active young people from different regions of Ukraine, including frontline communities, to the Government Building. Today, we are effectively launching this systematic work," said the Head of Government.

According to her, the National Council shall become a permanent platform for dialogue between state institutions and young people. The proposals developed by the Council shall be taken into account in youth policy and other Government decisions.

To this end, thematic working groups have been created in 10 areas: youth work and volunteering, economic group, civil society support, international cooperation, physical and mental health support, accessibility, affordable housing, education, pupils and students self-government, affirmation of Ukrainian identity, and youth policy analysis and research. During the meeting, the importance of developing decisions on frontline territories in each of the thematic groups was discussed.

The Prime Minister also invited representatives of the National Council to join the open part of the Cabinet meeting.

As a first practical step, the National Youth Council will be involved in preparing this year's Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026).

“Our task is to ensure that the ideas of Ukrainian youth are reflected in concrete decisions and changes,” Yulia Svyrydenko concluded.
