Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, posted 23 April 2021 09:13

The presentation of the information-analytical portal of community capacity took place - the launch platform of a large information base, which will allow analysis and evaluating the situation in each community. The portal was created with the support of the partner of the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development - the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine.

"The portal will help the authorities and the public to monitor, analyze and evaluate the progress and results of activities of each community with the help of certain determined indicators. Timely and effective monitoring by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development will help to develop and effectively organize the execution of certain objectives by communities. Joint targeted actions will help improve infrastructure in the regions. Supporting the development of capable communities is a priority of decentralization," said Minister for Communities and Territorial Development Oleksii Chernyshov.

Indicators on the portal are divided into three groups:

  • demography,
  • infrastructural development,
  • financial support.

The set of these data correlates with the criteria that the Government has focused on at all stages of building sufficient communities. The list of indicators is not final and will be supplemented later by other data that will be updated on regular basis.

"We hope that the data set will allow us to reach an integrated indicator of community capacity, which will demonstrate the place of each particular community among others in the country," said Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development Vyacheslav Nehoda.

The data will be useful for representatives of local governments, state authorities, relevant associations, as well as civil society.

The presentation of the portal took place with the technical support of the Swiss-Ukrainian project DESPRO.
