
Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection
According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of April 23, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 14,277 (591 children out of this number, 277 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 410,663.
Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 508,046 people have been vaccinated. On April 22, 2021, 16,169 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 4,090 people got CoviShield vaccine, 7,051 – CoronaVac vaccine, 5,028 – Comirnaty vaccine.
During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 3,728 persons, 434 patients died, 18,964 persons recovered. There have been conducted 95,740 testings (41,305 using the PCR method, 18,360 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 36,075).
During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:
- 2,004,630 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
- 1,552,267 people recovered;
- 41,700 people died;
- 9,130,606 testings have been conducted.

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
