The Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine (MinRegion) has prepared a Methodology for the development of district heating schemes for the settlements of Ukraine, thereby planning to protect, where necessary, the central heating system. The Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Aliona Babak said this during a scientific-practical conference "The need and prospects of maintaining central heating in Ukraine", which took place within the framework of the XV International Congress "Institutional and Technical Aspects of Reforming of Housing and Communal Services - 2019".
"Preserving and developing the district heating system in cities is a priority issue for the MinRegion. We don't want to be held hostage to gas systems. And we cannot destroy costly network systems so that to lay the new networks again. The Methodology provides step-by-step recommendation algorithms needed to calculate the optimization of the transition to decentralized systems in areas where necessary and where it is critical to leave centralization zones. We expect it to be approved by the end of the year," the Minister said.
