Government continues personnel reforms: Verkhovna Rada supports key appointments
The personnel reshuffle in key areas of public administration initiated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy remains ongoing.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has voted for a number of important personnel decisions, and supported appointment of new leaders to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and state institutions.
In particular:
• Denys Shmyhal has been appointed First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine — Minister of Energy of Ukraine;
• Mykhailo Fedorov has assumed the position of Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
In addition, Dmytro Natalukha has taken office as Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine.
"I firmly believe that in their new positions, these leaders will manage to ensure systematic work in the areas of energy, defence and state asset management, as well as the further implementation of key priorities set by the President and the Government of Ukraine," said Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
The Prime Minister thanked the MPs for supporting the appointments and stressed that there is a lot of work ahead.
"I count on the professionalism and teamwork of the entire Cabinet," added the Head of Government.
