Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk introduced the new Head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine Roman Opimakh.

“Subsoil management is among the sectors mostly intertwined with corruption in our country. It is no coincidence that among the society there is a lack of trust in this authority. However, I have confidence in the new leader, who has to radically change the mechanisms of work of the service,” Oleksiy Honcharuk emphasized.

The Prime Minister added that "the country has been put at a disadvantage, in particular, because certain workers did not act to protect the interests of the country."

“I assign a clear task to the new leader. By the end of the year to get rid of saboteurs, corrupt officials and leaders of illegal plots. The authority should be open, all document flow should be digitized to the full,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

As a reminder, the decision on the appointment of the new Head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil was taken on Wednesday, November 6, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Roman Opimakh has over 15 years of experience in working with government agencies as well as in strategic planning and raising the efficiency of processes in the oil and gas industry.

It should be noted that before the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine was subordinate to the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection.
