Ministry of Youth and Sports and PlayCity join forces: together for transparency in sport
The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the PlayCity State Agency of Ukraine have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and Information Exchange to prevent manipulation of official sports competition results, regulate gambling advertising, and combat the spread of gambling addiction (ludomania).
The document was signed by the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Matvii Bidnyi, and the Head of the PlayCity Agency, Hennadii Novikov.
Matvii Bidnyi expressed gratitude to Hennadii Novikov for their collaboration in promoting transparency and fairness in sport.
The signing of the Memorandum marks a significant step towards consolidating the efforts of state institutions to ensure the integrity of sport and protect it from external threats.
Under the agreement, the parties will exchange information on suspicious betting activities related to official sports competitions and coordinate efforts to detect and prevent attempts to manipulate competition outcomes, involving national and international partners in the process.
Special attention will be given to tackling violations of gambling advertising regulations and addressing the spread of gambling addiction (ludomania). The cooperation will also focus on preventing betting by athletes, coaches, referees, and other sports participants who are prohibited from doing so under current legislation and sports regulations.
The Memorandum lays the foundation for effective dialogue, raising awareness about sports integrity, and creating a safe sporting environment in Ukraine.
