Government approves new version of the Regulation on Active Parks

At the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine today adopted a resolution on the new version of the Regulation on the social project “Active Parks – Locations of a Healthy Ukraine”.

The main objective of the Regulation is to improve approaches to organising and conducting physical and recreational activities at national and local levels within the project, to promote and organise health-enhancing physical activity for all categories of citizens, including persons with disabilities, children with disabilities, internally displaced persons, war veterans, and their family members. The “Active Parks – Locations of a Healthy Ukraine” social project aims to create conditions for reducing morbidity rates and improving the quality and duration of active life for every Ukrainian.

The changes include:

• updating approaches to organising and conducting physical and recreational activities at national and local levels, as well as their differentiation;
• holding adaptive sports events and classes;
• promoting physical and psychological rehabilitation;
• developing the information and communication system: https://ap.sportforall.gov.ua/start

Why is this decision important?

The new regulation on Active Parks will help increase the number of people engaging in physical activity and leading a healthy lifestyle. It will also enhance the promotion of adaptive sports as a tool for recovery and physical activity for everyone, as well as the development of a barrier-free environment in Ukraine.
