Ministry of Youth and Sports expands tasks of youth centers to work with Ukrainians abroad and in temporarily occupied territories

At the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, amendments have been made to the Model Regulation on Youth Centers. From now on, youth centers will have opportunities to systematically involve Ukrainian citizens living abroad, in temporarily occupied territories, or in areas of active hostilities, as well as the Ukrainian diaspora, in activities promoting Ukrainian national and civic identity.

These tasks are assigned to the All‑Ukrainian Youth Center, regional, and local youth centers. They will take these audiences into account when planning their work, implementing state, regional, and local programs, and preparing activities in the field of Ukrainian national and civic identity.

In particular, youth centers will be free to organize online and offline events, webinars, presentations, and information campaigns; create educational and visual materials, social videos, and other projects. They will also be allowed to engage civil society and international organizations, as well as other partner institutions, in this work.

The changes will help maintain the connection of Ukrainians with Ukraine, preserve their national and civic identity, and create conditions for the return of citizens from abroad and for people to move from temporarily occupied territories to areas under Ukraine’s control.
