Iryna Vereshchuk chairs meeting on employment of internally displaced persons
Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk held a meeting on employment and vocational training of internally displaced persons.
The event gathered together representatives of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Education and Science, the State Employment Service, regional military administrations and other agencies.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the RMA (regional military administrations) develop regional programmes for IDPs, which would include employment measures. In the long run, they will also facilitate the return of Ukrainians who have been temporarily sheltered abroad. The possibility of attracting international donors to co-finance these programmes is being considered.
The issue of retraining internal migrants is also relevant, as it will enable them to find a new profession. The programme of vouchers for training, which can be obtained by IDPs of working age, is also promising. Since the beginning of the year, employment centres have already issued more than 4,000 such vouchers.
Employment and retraining will facilitate the integration of IDPs in host communities.
