As part of the support for micro, small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine, 22,587 loans totalling UAH 73.81 billion have been issued since the start of the use of the state guarantee instrument on a portfolio basis in December 2020.
As of May 1, 2023, 29 lending banks were servicing 16,674 loans totalling UAH 52.17 billion. The principal liabilities, which are partially secured by state guarantees on a portfolio basis, amounted to UAH 25.57 billion. This is about 70% of the total limit of guarantees provided (UAH 36.32 billion).
At the same time, in April 2023, 926 loan agreements worth UAH 3.82 billion were concluded with the share of principal obligations guaranteed by the state amounting to UAH 2.04 billion.
In terms of the number of loans serviced under state guarantees on a portfolio basis as of 1 May this year, the leader is Privatbank, with 11,790 loans totalling UAH 17.46 billion, which is 72% of the limit of such guarantees provided to this bank. The second largest bank by the number of such loans is JSC "Oschadbank" - 2,129 loans totalling UAH 8.79 billion (respectively, 76% of the bank's limit).
The largest volume of loans is serviced:
- in Kyiv - 1,123 loans in the amount of UAH 4.08 billion;
- Odesa region, where 1,154 loans for UAH 3.81 billion;
- Dnipropetrovsk region - 1,487 loans for UAH 3.72 billion;
- Lviv region - 1,404 loans for UAH 3.37 billion.
By type of economic activity, the largest number of loans partially secured by state guarantees on a portfolio basis are serviced in the following sectors: agriculture
- agriculture - 6,189 loans totalling UAH 32.52 billion;
- wholesale and retail trade, vehicle repair - 6,533 loans for UAH 10.51 billion;
- processing industry - 1,544 loans for UAH 5.62 billion.
