Iryna Vereshchuk: For the first time since the beginning of the Azovsal blockade, it became possible to evacuate more than 100 civilians
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk in her video address announced the evacuation from Azovstal.
"It simply came to our notice then. And our silence was only for the sake of getting people out unharmed," the Deputy Prime Minister explained.
She urged citizens not to believe everything that is written in the occupiers' publics, but to listen and trust the Ukrainian authorities.
"More than a hundred people have been evacuated today. The operation continues. It became possible thanks to the control of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the joint efforts of Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres and representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross. We praise it very much," Iryna Vereshchuk said.
She promised to unveil the details later.
