Bulk carrier Neva is the third vessel to be loaded under the program launched by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in partnership with the UN World Food Programme (WFP). Its goal is to help poorer countries fight hunger.

The second vessel, BC Callisto, today completes loading of 30,000 tonnes of wheat in the port of Chornomorsk to be sent to Ethiopia. We expect that by late spring the ports will receive more than 60 ships to deliver Ukrainian wheat to poorer countries.

“Ukraine systematically fulfills its obligations under the Grain Initiative and continues to work on expanding the Grain from Ukraine initiative of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. We are grateful to the countries participating in the project and we are confident that together we will be able not only to fight world hunger, but also to preserve Ukraine’s status as a key exporter of agricultural products,” said Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov.

Today, as part of the Grain Initiative 7 vessels with 287,400 tonnes of agricultural products for Asian countries left the ports of Greater Odesa. Among them is the bulk carrier AL SAAD with 55,000 tonnes of wheat for Indonesia, suffering from a food crisis.

Since the start of the grain corridor, Ukraine has exported 12.7 million tonnes of agricultural products.
