As a result of another massive missile shelling, Ukraine has high-voltage and power generation infrastructure damaged in the western, central and eastern regions of our country, told Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a CMU session on February 10.
“russian terrorists have once again unleashed a massive missile attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Zaporizhzhia suffered one of the largest air strikes since the beginning of the war. Kharkiv also fell under a heavy attack during the night. In the morning, the missile attack continued and affected the entire country,” the Head of Government stressed.
In total, according to Denys Shmyhal, almost two dozen units of thermal power plants remain exposed to damage due to constant attacks. Given the fact that some of our power facilities are occupied, Ukraine has temporarily lost 44% of its nuclear generation, 75% of its thermal power plant capacity and 33% of its combined heat and power plants. Every second Ukrenergo substation has been under attack for four months.
“Despite this terror, the vast majority of Ukrainians remain with heat, water and electricity. Repairs are underway, there are enough resources to complete the winter, generators are being delivered, and energy equipment from partners is on its way,” emphasized the Prime Minister.
