The International Register of Damages starts its work in The Hague, where all Ukrainians affected by russian aggression will have an opportunity to file a claim. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a Government meeting on 2 April.

"First of all, we are launching the registration of damaged or destroyed housing. Applications will be submitted through Diia, everything is as digitalised and convenient as possible.  We predict that the Register will receive from 300,000 to 600,000 applications from victims in the housing segment alone," said Denys Shmyhal.

In total, he said, up to 8 million applications are expected from all those affected by the war.

"We are consistently and purposefully implementing the principle of "russia will pay" and creating a precedent for the aggressor's financial responsibility for the losses caused by it," the Prime Minister stressed.
