Two months after the liberation of four regions from the russian aggressor, the Government has allocated UAH 2.3 billion for the restoration of critical infrastructure and the implementation of priority non-capital repairs. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a Government meeting on June 3.
"We called on local authorities to allocate funds for reconstruction in the same way. We see that there is a positive synergy here. For example, the leadership of Kyiv has joined the Government program of rebuilding, allocating funds from the local budget for the reconstruction of destroyed housing and infrastructure," the Prime Minister said.
Denys Shmyhal stressed that the first stage of reconstruction is underway, where losses are being assessed, technical documentation of projects is being prepared, and critical facilities are being repaired.
"The Government's task is to restore most of the damaged critical facilities by the autumn. That all citizens in the occupied territories were provided with water, gas, electricity. Where possible, we will renovate schools, kindergartens and hospitals. In four completely deoccupied oblasts, we are currently preparing to renovate 83 hospitals, 59 kindergartens and 122 schools, " the Prime Minister said.
According to the Head of Government, the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development in synergy with the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Infrastructure, has been instructed to report weekly on progress in its area of responsibility.
