UNITED24 to raise funds for the restoration of sports facilities and youth centres – Government decision
The Government has adopted a decision that will allow funds to be raised through UNITED24 for the restoration and development of Ukraine’s sports and youth infrastructure.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports will receive a dedicated account at the National Bank of Ukraine and will administer funds allocated to support physical culture and sport, as well as youth policy.
The funds may be used to restore damaged sports facilities, youth centres and youth spaces, as well as to carry out repairs and reconstruction. They may also be invested in the further development of new sports and youth infrastructure.
This is an important decision for communities whose sports and youth facilities continue to suffer the consequences of russian attacks.
As of mid-June 2026, 891 sports infrastructure facilities in Ukraine had been damaged or destroyed. These include 26 sports facilities at institutions designated as Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic training bases.
russia has also damaged 147 youth infrastructure facilities: 68 youth centres and youth spaces have been damaged or completely destroyed, while another 79 remain in temporarily occupied territories.
“Sports grounds, stadiums and youth centres are places where children and young people learn, develop and find support. For towns and communities, they are also spaces for recovery, rehabilitation and a return to active life. Thanks to UNITED24, we will be able to attract additional funding to rebuild these facilities, return them to communities and create new opportunities for young people and athletes,” said Serhii Popyk, First Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.
Decisions on the allocation of funds will be made by a dedicated commission under the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The Ministry will also report on donations received and how they have been used, as well as on facilities where restoration and development works have begun or been completed.
UNITED24 is the Ukrainian Government’s official fundraising platform, launched in May 2022 at the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. All donations are transferred to the official accounts of the National Bank of Ukraine. Funds for different areas are held in separate accounts and may only be used for their intended purpose. To date, more than USD 3.67 billion has been raised through UNITED24.
