More anti-corruption projects and new stages of cooperation: the team of Ministry of Digital Transformation met with delegations from USAID, DFC and the U.S. Embassy

Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development and Minister of Digital Transformation, met with a delegation from USAID, the U.S. Corporation for International Development (DFC) and the U.S. Embassy. In particular, with Scott Nathan, DFC CEO, Erin McKee, USAID Assistant Administrator, Maria Longhi, Coordinator of U.S. Assistance to Europe, Eurasia, and Central Asia at the U.S. Department of State, and Bridget Brink, U.S. Ambassador. They discussed the results of joint projects and further plans for cooperation.

"The United States has been a reliable partner of the Ministry of Digital Transformation since the first days of the Ministry's foundation. Thanks to USAID's legal, financial and technical assistance, we have created Diia, a top digital state product that is already used by 19 million Ukrainians. Other countries are interested in it and plan to implement its analogue in their own countries. We have also launched projects that have a powerful anti-corruption effect. We are grateful to USAID for their trust, support and faith in Ukrainian digital products," said Mykhailo Fedorov.

The creation of Diia has changed the culture within the country, and digitalisation itself has become a pop culture in Ukraine. In addition, the philosophy of the Government has changed. While ministers used to be cautious about Diia, they are now planning how to make a service digital and then take it offline.

Diia has become a key tool for Ukraine's transformation, anti-corruption and reconstruction. Together with USAID, the team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation has implemented anti-corruption projects. In particular, construction services in cooperation with the USAID-funded Transparency and Accountability in Public Administration and Services (TAPAS) project. These services already generate UAH 11.1 billion in anti-corruption and economic benefits per year.

Together with the TAPAS project, we are also working on the implementation of eExcise, moving towards customs clearance of cars in Diia and automation of services for seafarers. During the meeting, the parties discussed further formats of cooperation that will help build the most convenient state in the world.

USAID emphasized that they were ready to further cooperate with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and implement powerful anti-corruption projects.
