Artem Nekrasov: Coordinated efforts of all services prevented power outages following attack in Kyiv region
Despite ongoing enemy attacks, Ukraine’s energy system remains stable, ensuring consumers have electricity and heating. This was stated by Artem Nekrasov, First Deputy Minister of Energy, during the United News telethon.
“Thanks to the coordinated efforts of dispatchers, emergency crews, and rescuers, we managed to swiftly address the consequences of the overnight attack in Kyiv region and prevent consumer outages. All staff were in shelters, so no one was injured,” he noted.
Ukraine is preparing for its fourth wartime winter with a clear plan and all necessary resources. Energy workers conduct daily repairs, build regional equipment reserves, and strengthen protections for critical infrastructure.
“Our primary goal is to ensure Ukrainians have electricity and heating during the winter. We are doing everything possible to keep the system stable and resilient, even in the most challenging conditions,” the First Deputy Minister emphasised.
Recently, Ukraine received another shipment from Azerbaijan, including cables, generators, and transformer equipment essential for quickly restoring damaged facilities. Since 2022, Ukraine has received humanitarian aid in the form of equipment from over 30 countries.
“We are grateful to our international partners for their financial and technical support, which helps us build equipment reserves and ensure the reliability of the energy system during the heating season,” Nekrasov added.
Through the combined efforts of the Ministry of Energy, the Government, energy companies, and international partners, Ukraine’s energy system is prepared for a stable winter. All necessary measures for safe, reliable, and uninterrupted energy supply have been implemented with maximum efficiency and coordination.
