Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko is deeply convinced that the Government's decision to monetize saved subsidies will stimulate energy saving in households. This was stated by the Vice Prime Minister on air of the 5 TV channel.

Commenting on the implementation of the monetization program, Pavlo Rosenko stressed: «This year we carried out an experiment that those citizens who managed to economically consume gas and electricity in the heating season of 2016-2017 and accumulated a certain resource of subsidies will receive monetized compensation this year».

«As we promised, the monetization procedure will cover about 2 million households. Thereby, the issue at stake is everyone can start to care about energy efficiency and next year the sum of energy saving monetization will be increased», the Vice Prime Minister underlined.

«I am convinced that all executive authorities spare no efforts to cope with the task in order to ensure that by 1 September, 2 million families entitled to monetization will receive these funds», Pavlo Rozenko asserted.

    Background

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, at its session on April 26, approved the decision on the introduction of energy saving monetization program. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman announced that the said decision would affect at least 1.5 million families, who are to receive approximately 700 UAH as a one-time payment. Electricity savings equivalent to the cost of 150 kW and for natural gas - 100 cubic meters, provided that these resources are used for heating are subject for the monetization on the outcomes of the previous heating season.
