Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk instructed the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and the Trade Representative of Ukraine, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry to summon a meeting with chairmen of mining and processing plants, major steel plants, major energy companies, enterprises of mechanical engineering and the leadership of PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia to discuss export promotion and transportation safety issues. The Prime Minister said at a Government meeting on Friday, March 25.
The aforesaid meeting should be held Tuesday, March 29, stressed the Head of Government.
He emphasized that the meeting should concern
development of steps to
promote exports.
The Prime Minister stressed that the dynamics of export proceeds now "to
put it mildly, is rather
poor": "It is clear that the reason is the falling prices in foreign markets, but without boosting exports it will be difficult for us to accomplish revenue line of the state budget and get currency to fill foreign exchange reserves of the country."
The second problem that requires consideration, according to Arseniy
Yatsenyuk, is the safety of conveyance, particularly in the area of anti-terror operation. The Head of Government noted that he had received a
number of complaints that businesses cannot safely transport their cargo". For this purpose, he said, the
meeting should be attended by the
leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard.
The Prime
Minister also accentuated the need to ensure participation in the meeting of the head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine so that he would explain the reimbursement of value added tax to exporting
enterprises: "A new system of administration and compensation of a
value added tax, introduced by
the Government, provides a transparent
mechanism to pay VAT and receive a refund".
Arseniy
Yatsenyuk also commissioned the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Oleksii
Pavlenko to hold a meeting with enterprises of
agro-industrial complex to discuss
preparation for the next export
season.
