MIP: Three towers to expand the Ukrainian broadcast are planned to be installed in ATO this year
The monitoring mission of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine continues its work in ATO zone. In the framework of the mission’s visits, the information will be checked for the presence on the air licensed and unlicensed Ukrainian broadcasting, including broadcasting of the Russian Federation and the separatists. The monitoring group will operate along the entire front line.
Advisor to the Minister on ensuring TV and Radio broadcasting Oleksandr Brygynets, who is currently in ATO zone, has started the monitoring in accordance with clearly established schedule developed by MIP.
Oleksandr Brygynets: "At the moment I can announce that building of three towers that will ensure Ukrainian broadcasting to more territories in ATO are planned to be installed this year. With the help of last year' experience, we, under the joint efforts of the Commission on ensuring stable operation of national television and radio broadcasting under MIP, have worked out a specific algorithm, which is effective in the direction of broadcasting renewal".
In addition, Oleksandr Brygynets said that the transmitters will be installed locally in places where signal is very bad, or is absent at all. This will provide small towns and villages, which are cut off from Ukrainian information space, at least with regional state television. "During the monitoring, we also take into account the opinion of local people, directly communicating with them we can discover their preferences. People feel differently about the news. Majority of them are interested to receive not only national and international information, which is present almost all over Ukrainian TV channels, but also information from broadcasters with local news, which in ATO area are DonTRC and LuhTRC. Therefore, during the installation of transmission equipment, taking into account the opinion of the community, we will expand network of regional television and radio broadcasters", - noted Advisor to the Minister from ATO zone.
