Multimedia foreign broadcasting platform of Ukraine launched

On October 1, at midday, the launch of the Multimedia foreign broadcasting platform of Ukraine took place.

Yurii Stets informed the UTR satellite channel was replaced with the UATV channel. It operates from three satellites: Amos 3, Azerspace 1, Galazy 19, as well as online on a separate YouTube channel. The channel broadcasts in Ukrainian, Russian, Crimean Tatar and English languages. An updated UKRINFORM delivers the news in Ukrainian, English, Russian, Spanish, German and Chinese. “Now we have an opportunity to tell the world that Ukraine is not just depressed regions, corruption and poverty, but a European state which strives for reforms", the Information Policy Minister stressed.

The Minister also noted that after the signing of the MIP bill "On the foreign broadcasting service of Ukraine”, the platform would obtain a legal status enabling to implement another steps, in particular financial measures.

On September 17, the state-owned broadcasting company The UTR Ukrainian Service changed in its license the UTR logo into the UATV (it will use the UA logo on air).

On September 30, the Minister Yuriy Stets during a regular Cabinet meeting presented a video presentation of the reform of the foreign broadcasting service of Ukraine, announcing the start of the foreign broadcasting channel on October 1, 2015.
