PM: Agenda of the EU and G7 states should contain tougher sanctions against Russia

"We believe that Russia should be subjected to sanctions unless it stops shelling, all Russian troops and all mercenaries are withdrawn from the territory of Ukraine, while Ukraine regains complete control over the state border", announced Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk after his meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Algirdas Butkevičius Friday.

He stressed that Russia had vetoed a resolution to create an international tribunal for crimes against humanity - the shooting down of the Malaysian airliner MH17.

"We will not abdicate our desire to investigate this crime and bring those responsible to justice. And therefore, either a decision on the establishment of the international tribunal during a General Assembly of the United Nations or the creation of an international court is the task to bring the perpetrators to justice", said the Head of the Ukrainian Government.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed that Ukraine had done everything to ensure, "peacebuilding in Donbas and withdrawal of Russian terrorists from Ukraine’s territory". Meanwhile, he stressed, the Russian Federation "has never abidden by and still refuses to abide by the Minsk agreement."

"Unless it stops shelling, all Russian troops and all mercenaries are withdrawn from the territory of Ukraine, while Ukraine regains complete control over the state border, we consider Russia should be subjected to sanctions. Moreover, imposition of tougher sanctions should also be on the agenda of the European Union member states and G7", highlighted Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

Apart from that, the Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed an international crime of illegal annexation of Crimea should be punished: "Revision of the sanctions is out of question. We can only talk about strengthening sanctions until Russia returns Crimea back, which it illegally seized".
