On August 20, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko held a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Ukraine Brice Roquefeuil.

Government Commissioner for Public Debt Management Yuriy Butsa also took part in the meeting.

The Minister of Finance congratulated Brice Roquefeuil on the start of his diplomatic mission in Ukraine and expressed gratitude to the Government of France for its comprehensive and unwavering assistance to our country.

"France has been and remains a reliable partner of Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, USD 437 million in direct budget support from France has been disbursed to the State Budget. We are especially grateful for France's leadership during its G7 presidency in 2026 and its consistent support within EU institutions, particularly regarding the implementation of the four-year Ukraine Facility program and the Ukraine Support Loan mechanism. This support allows us to plan our budget needs for the medium term and maintain macro-financial stability," noted Sergii Marchenko.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the state of Ukraine's financial system, current external financing needs, and the key parameters for preparing the draft State Budget of Ukraine for 2027. Measures to support Ukraine's economy and the agricultural sector amid logistical challenges were also discussed.

The participants paid special attention to the development of bilateral economic partnership and the implementation of joint investment projects in the fields of transport, healthcare, municipal infrastructure, and civil protection.

Ambassador Roquefeuil Roquefeuil emphasized that France remains in solidarity with Ukraine and will continue to comprehensively support our state both bilaterally and within international institutions.
