Prime Minister: A Justice Ministry's commission is due to arrive tomorrow to Khmelnytsky to hold comprehensive verification of implementation of lustration law by all government authorities
"A Justice Ministry’s
commission is due to arrive tomorrow to Khmelnytsky to
hold comprehensive verification of implementation of the lustration law by the regional state administration, district
state administrations, the State Fiscal Service, the tax police and all the
state authorities", informed Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk
during a working visit to Khmelnytsky at a meeting
with RSA heads on Thursday, 6 August.
The Prime Minister
announced he had already given appropriate instructions.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk
stressed that macro changes in the country "are associated with a new
police, a new Budget legislation, financial assistance
for the country."
However, he said
"people have a simple question – why lustration has not been held at the
local level": "We have cleansed Ministers, Deputy Ministers, heads of departments. But why, in a particular area, certain
corrupt official who has spent 10 or 15 years sitting in a district or regional
administration, changes color and remains at the same
place?"
"The people
demand justice, and it is general public sentiment", accentuated the Head
of Government.
"We should cleanse
the system instead of changing colors and party membership
card," said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
