Arseniy Yatsenyuk received delegation of U.S. Congress
On Wednesday, 5
August, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk received the delegation of the U.S. Congress
headed by Democratic Minority Leader of the House of Representatives Nancy
Pelosi.
Participants of
the meeting discussed relevant challenges and tasks on the agenda of Ukraine: from
the protection of independence and territorial integrity from Russian
aggression to the urgent issues of internal reforms.
American Congressmen
praised the active and hard work of the Ukrainian Government in extremely
difficult circumstances experienced by our state.
The challenges Ukraine
faces are impressive, as well as commitment of the Government of Ukraine and
its practical actions that provide answers to the large scale of security,
economic, social and humanitarian issues - American Congressmen stated.
During the
conversation the parties exchanged views on the most urgent tasks of the Ukrainian-American
bilateral dialogue and in particular key landmarks in cooperation with the U.S.
Congress.
The Head of Ukrainian Government expressed appreciation for the steadfast support for Ukraine by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States. "Unity around Ukraine, demonstrating by the American partners, is unity around common ideals of freedom and democracy. We appreciate the tangible and practical solidarity with our people and rely on further practical steps that will enhance Ukrainian security, implement the governmental plan of reforms and establish decent prospects for a free and prosperous life of our people," Areniy Yatsenyuk noted.
