Ukraine and Belarus open a new page of trade and economic and regional cooperation
Ukraine and
Belarus are opening a new page of trade and economic and regional cooperation. Vice
Prime Minister - Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and
the Municipal Services Hennadii Zubko
stated this, opening the 23rd session of the Intergovernmental
Ukrainian-Belarusian joint commission on trade and economic cooperation.
According
to him, the countries will cooperate on several strategically important areas.
The key ones are the localization of enterprises of the Belarusian engineering
on the Ukrainian territory and the establishment of joint ventures in Belarus.
"All
the issues discussed during meetings of the working groups and everything
reflected in the protocol will enable us to see new aspects of the relationship
as well as in the transport infrastructure. Promising directions of our
cooperation are the industrial complex, localization of enterprises of the Belarusian
engineering on the Ukrainian territory and establishment of joint ventures in
Belarus," the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine underlined.
According
to Hennadii Zubko, one of
Ukraine’s reform programs is regional development.
"That’s
why we have chosen Chernihiv on purpose to hold a
meeting of our committee. It is very important that regions can contact directly
and establish cooperation with each other directly without
intermediaries," he said.
The
official also stated that Ukraine today has made unprecedented steps towards
liberalization of port fees, simplification of all the procedures.
"We
expect Belarusian cargo to reach Ukrainian ports", Hennadii
Zubko emphasized.
Vice Prime
Minister of Ukraine added we opened a new page of relations between Ukraine and
Belarus in terms of regional development, the relationship between production
companies, traffic and new trade and economic relations.
