In Dnipropetrovsk Arseniy Yatsenyuk visited the dislocation of special MIA regiment "Dnipro-1"

During his working trip to Dnipropetrovsk on Tuesday, July 21, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk together with Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov and Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko called on the place of deployment of a special patrol militia regiment "Dnipro-1" of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk area.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk got familiarized with the material base of the special forces, in particular, available military equipment, examined modern barracks of soldiers designed for 200 people, as well as military kit.

From a command and staff vehicle the Prime Minister contacted the frontline in Pisky. Arseniy Yatsenyuk aired a greeting to the soldiers.

The Prime Minister appealed to the officers of "Dnipro-1": "Dear Ukrainian heroes". He stressed that "Dnipro-1" is the first volunteer battalion, formed the previous year at the beginning of hostilities in Eastern Ukraine: "Each of you is not just a volunteer. You are the citizens who not on the notice, but on the calling of your soul, heart and duty to the country were first to form a volunteer battalion and were first to go to the front to fight against the Russian aggressor and to protect every Ukrainian family, to defend our independence, our state and the future of every Ukrainian family".

Now "Dnipro-1" is a special regiment of the Ministry of Interior. According to the Prime Minister, it will become the basis for shaping the future Operational and Sudden Response Corps of the Ministry of Internal Affairs: "These are special forces, whose aim is to combat organized crime and protect the citizens of the country."

On behalf of the Government of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk expressed gratitude to the soldiers: "Thank you for your fight. Peace can be obtained only when we have a strong army, a strong National Guard and a strong "Dnipro-1". “Glory to Ukraine!"

Those present honoured the memory of the dead Dnipro-1 officers with a minute of silence.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov presented state awards and department awards to 44 soldiers of the regiment. Four commandos received a personal weapon. Also awards were handed over to the volunteers.
