Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi: The struggle of Konovalets and today’s defenders is one struggle
Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi paid tribute to Colonel Yevhen Konovalets.
“His return home is not only a testament — it is a necessity for modern Ukraine,” said the Head of Government.
In recent days, thousands of servicemen visited the Colonel at the Patriarchal Cathedral of the UGCC in Kyiv. Ukraine’s defenders feel a direct connection between themselves and those who fought and gave their lives for Ukraine in the 20th century.
“The struggle of both generations is one struggle. The enemy is the same. The goal is the same!” emphasized the Prime Minister.
According to him, Yevhen Konovalets was not only the most talented military leader of the Liberation Struggles but also a brilliant organizer of the Ukrainian movement in catastrophic circumstances.
“His ability to unite very different people around the idea of a free and united Ukraine is the key to the success of the Ukrainian cause. When Ukrainians are united, they win,” stressed Sergii Koretskyi. “Rest in peace in your native land. Welcome home, Colonel!”
