Prime Minister instructed to send to the Hague Tribunal a Russian film on Crimea's annexation

The Government is considering all possible international legal measures to bring Russia to justice for the annexation of Crimea as well as military aggression: "We will shoot our own film -"Crimea. Crime and punishment," Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said at a meeting on Wednesday, March 11.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine had adopted a declaration on the transfer to the jurisdiction of the Hague Tribunal investigation of international crime, committed by Russia in relation to Ukraine, namely "the annexation of Crimea and Russian military aggression in Eastern Ukraine."

"In order to enable international prosecutors to consider the application and start proceeding, the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Security Service of Ukraine, Ministry of Justice of Ukraine are collecting appropriate evidence base to bring to justice all the perpetrators of the attack on Ukraine, the annexation of Crimea and of thousands of victims caused by Russian military aggression," the Prime Minister emphasized.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk recalled about a trailer for a Russian documentary "Crimea. Homeward bound" released on the Internet. "The film answers the question of who gave instructions to seize the Ukrainian territory in Crimea and violate international law, and who is responsible."

He ordered the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine to send this video to the Hague Tribunal: "It is very important to send to the Hague Tribunal the whole upcoming movie, because this film should rouse interest in international prosecutors and investigators."

"Meanwhile, we will shoot our own film - in reality. It will be called "Crimea. Crime and punishment," the Prime Minister added.
