Deputy Prime Minister Hennadii Zubko met with EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Christos Stylianides
Ukraine relies to cooperate with the European Commission in the process
of elaboration of a joint Action Plan to render humanitarian assistance to
internally displaced persons. This issue was raised at today's meeting, January
26, between Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development,
Construction, Housing and Utilities Hennadii Zubko and European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis
Management Christos Stylianides.
"We must be proactive and be prepared for various scenarios to satisfy
the needs of internally displaced persons. This requires a joint Action Plan
for humanitarian assistance," said Hennadii Zubko.
He stressed that the Ukrainian Government is taking urgent measures to
establish interdepartmental cooperation with international organizations on humanitarian
assistance issues, including internally displaced persons.
The Vice Prime Minister noted that Ukraine hopes for tight cooperation in
the delivery of assistance from the EU member states and the European
Commission through a mechanism of civil protection in order to enhance the EU
support.
"We have embarked on creating a system that will afford to move fast
in the delivery of humanitarian aid from the EU to Ukraine’s territory. Moreover,
we make every effort to resolve an issue how to ensure one hundred percent delivery
of targeted assistance, which is to be sent to Ukraine, to those people who
really need it," said Hennady Zubko.
On January
27, Vice Deputy Prime Minister,
Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Hennadii Zubko and European
Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Christos Stylianides will visit Dnipropetrovsk, where, according
to the schedule, tomorrow will be delivered three aircrafts with humanitarian assistance
from the EU.
