Arseniy Yatsenyuk took part in the service to commemorate the victims of terrorism and a prayer for peace at Maydan Nezalezhnosti

On Sunday, January 18, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk together with thousands of people took part in a memorial service for those who died as a result of terrorist acts and a prayer for peace, which was held in Maydan Nezalezhnosti [Independence Square] in Kyiv.

Thousands of people marched to commemorate the victims of terror from the Taras Shevchenko monument to Maydan Nezalezhnosti, including those who died from the terrorist attack near Volnovakha. They were holding the lampads and posters “I am Volnovakha”, “Je suis Volnovakha”, “We are against aggression”.

The people heard addresses by Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate, Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine Filaret, Head of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Vicar of the Kyiv metropolis rector of Kiev Theological Academy, Bishop Clement of Irpen, Bishop of Vyshgorod and Podolsky Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church Volodymyr, Deputy Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine Sheikh Rustam Gafuri, Deputy head of the All-Ukrainian Union of Associations of Evangelical Christians-Baptists Serhii Moroz. Among other religious leaders in Independence Square were also head of the Ukrainian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Bishop Gregory Buniatyan and Rabbi Mendel Nyuvirt.

All the present paid tribute to those killed by terrorists with a moment of silence and lit memorial candles.
