Kvitashvili Alexander: Health Ministry won't reduce the number of doctors
"The Health
Ministry won’t reduce the number of doctors, instead it will offer a mechanism of
redistribution of salaries depending on the qualifications of the
doctors," said Health Minister Alexander Kvitashvili
during a press conference.
"The current
health care system is unfair, as it is bound to the number of beds in the
hospital, instead of a quality of provided services," said A. Kvitashvili. He also explained, "To change this, the
system needs to be reframed from that paying for the premises, into that paying
for the appropriate qualifications. So, a good physician will get a decent
wage, and not a very good one, who won’t have anyone to cure, an appropriate
wage".
"Such a reform will
bring benefit for both doctors and patients," the Minister said.
