Government simplifies control procedures to get imported medicines to pharmacies and hospitals faster
Following Russian attacks on medicine warehouses, the Government has decided to simplify control procedures and speed up the delivery of imported medicines directly to pharmacies and hospitals. The aim is to ensure that medicines do not sit in warehouses but quickly reach retail outlets. Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi reported this.
He explained that from now on, an authorised representative of the importing company can personally check that the shipment matches the accompanying documents and carry out a visual inspection of the packaging, with mandatory photo documentation. The results are sent to the Ukrainian Medicine Agency, which issues a quality conclusion. If the same batch of medicines is imported into Ukraine again, the control is shortened to one working day.
"At the same time, it is important that state quality control remains in place, and the requirements for the quality and safety of medicines do not change. This is part of the Government's systemic work to make the supply of medicines more flexible and resilient," the Head of Government stressed.
