Ostap Semerak: The Government will approve sector plans to expand export capacity of Ukrainian manufacturers
According to the Action
Plan for the implementation of the Association Agreement, the ministries are
now developing over 160 sector plans for the execution of the EU regulations
and directives. The Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Ostap
Semerak said at a briefing during the media day organized
by the Government for the representatives of regional and national media
November 10, 2014.
Ostap Semerak expressed hope
that by the end of the week the ministries and central executive authorities would
complete the tasks that had been set by the Cabinet of Ministers, and would
submit the drafts sector plans to the Government.
"Certainly, their
considering and approval will take certain time. But I hope that the incumbent
Government will approve these sector plans," added the top official.
The Minister
explained that the mentioned
sector
plans are elaborated targeting to
harmonize the Ukrainian legislation with the EU laws in each area. First of all, it regards human rights. Also targeting to expand
export opportunities for Ukrainian producers.
The official reminded that the preparation of the Action Plan was taking place in close
cooperation with the colleagues
from the EU, in particular, substantial expert assistance in the process of work
on it was provided by the Support
Group for Ukraine.
Moreover, Ostap Semerak added that the
Cabinet of Ministers would recommend a new Parliament to introduce the post of
Vice Prime Minister for European integration.
According to the top official,
it would contribute to a greater optimization of work carried out by the
Government, as it is much required in
the process of implementation of the Association Agreement.
