Ostap Semerak informs about establishing of Business Ombudsman Office in Ukraine
The Government of
Ukraine has signed with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development an
Anti-Corruption Initiative to establish a Business Ombudsman to combat
corruption. Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Ostap
Semerak informed during a briefing during the media
day organized by the Government for the representatives of the regional and
national media on November 10, 2014.
"The EBRD, the Government and members of business associations that operate in Ukraine, are holding a competition for filling the post of Business Ombudsman," said Ostap
Semerak.
According to the Minister, Business Ombudsman will deal with complaints of both categories - Ukrainian businessmen
and foreigners making business in Ukraine. In particular, he will address signals regarding acts of corruption, takeovers etc.
At this, he said that a responsible
Commission is working to create the legal and regulatory framework, notably the
relevant draft law and regulation of the Government in order to establish the
legal basis for the activities of the Business Ombudsman in Ukraine.
