Lyudmila Denisova: Government approved the bill that determines mechanism of preserving labour relations for employees from ATO area
The employees
who, due to the ongoing antiterrorist operation, cannot do their job, will obtain
the right to leaves without pay. The relevant decision was adopted at the meeting
of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, by voting for the amendments to article
25 of the Law of Ukraine "About leaves", said the Minister of Social Policy
Liudmyla Denisova.
"In the East of Ukraine there
occurred a situation when many workers cannot attend their workplaces, even staying
within the inhabited localities in the area of hostilities. It is clear that
this cannot be considered as absence without a valid reason," she said.
However, she said, the legislation does not specify a mechanism for saving labor relations for this type of employees.
According to Lyudmila Denisova, if
the bill is approved by the
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the employees will have an opportunity to get a
vacation without payment at the time of the ATO in the relevant locality, taking into account the time required to return
to work, but no longer than seven
calendar days after the decision on termination of the ATO.
Such changes in the legislation will allow citizens with employment relationship in the territory of the ATO, to preserve their jobs and account the period of their
absence from work in the seniority
term, the Minister said.
