Volodymyr Groysman: It is important for us to ensure comprehensive and objective monitoring of the ceasefire regime

The expanding geographical scope of spots in the East of Ukraine attended by the OSCE monitoring mission and intensifying of its activity, targeting a comprehensive monitoring of compliance by the parties to the conflict of a cease-fire regime, were discussed at a meeting of the Vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Volodymyr Groysman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, the Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Ertugrul Apakan and representatives of the Ukrainian security and the military departments.

"For us it is extremely important to preserve the ceasefire as every hour it saves lives and prevents further damages. However, it is important for us that monitoring which allows to see the real picture of keeping by the parties of this regime was objective and was distributed among all respective points," said Volodymyr Groysman.

He stressed that Ukraine fully complied with all agreements and obligations it assumed concerning the ceasefire regime. However, in the last three days militants, according to the Ukrainian military, have made 45 shots.

Ertugrul Apakan reported that presently in the conflict zone there were 60 members of the OSCE monitoring mission, and the number of specialists would be expanded.

"We will do everything to ensure successful monitoring. Our representatives will attend the hot spots and all the points the sides contact in," said the Chief Monitor of the OSCE mission.

The parties stressed the need to preserve the publicity of the observation process and discussed plans to provide constant informing on the real situation with functioning of the ceasefire regime in the conflict zone.
