Olexandr Sych: Human rights defenders from the U.S.A stand ready to facilitate Ukraine in protection from Russian propaganda
American human rights
defenders stated their readiness
to facilitate in counteraction the Russian propaganda that undermines the
information space of Ukraine during the 23 years of building of the Ukrainian
state. The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Sych informed on the outcomes of the working meeting with
the delegation of the American human rights organization " Union of
Councils for Jews in the Former Soviet Union”.
The top official highly evaluated the efforts
of the U.S. civil society directed to informing the global community on current
events in our country and thanked the American people and the state for moral
and material support, Ukraine has always felt and continues to receive in one
of the toughest periods of state formation.
"The friends in need are friends indeed.
Russia has deliberately been ruining our army, security, information space and has
struck at the moment when the Ukrainian state was unarmed. Your help is especially
valuable in times of physical and information war started by Russia, when we
are forced to build the army "just-in-time", to strengthen the
protection and security of the information space, when regime of Putin is
terrified of revolutionary spirits in the Russian society, thus it strives at
all costs to undermine the noble aim much protected by the Ukrainian
Maidan", - said the Vice Prime Minister.
During the
meeting the parties discussed the mechanisms ethnic tolerance, maintaining tight cooperation between
human rights organizations in Ukraine and the U.S.A. in the sphere of preserving the national memory and neutralizing information threats for the
Ukrainian people from the aggressor. "One of the most effective tools for such cooperation can become the
Council of Ethnic Consent within the
Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, that is called to ensure powerful impact
of the Ukrainian civil society on the formation of a public policy in this area", - said Olexandr Sych.
In turn, the American delegation assured the
Vice-Prime Minister in readiness to further provide assistance to the Ukrainian
people in building democratic principles of state development, protection of human
rights, maintaining peace and stability.
